Cosmetic Recontouring

A kinder way to reshape the smile and still achieve great results is by adding composite filling material to the teeth and sometimes shaving off parts of the tooth. Composite can also be used to treat dark patches on teeth conservatively.

Composite material is basically a resin. It can be stuck on in very thin sections and varies in shade according to requirements. It can take a high polish and look superb. Its disadvantages are that it does darken a little with time and may need to be re-polished or replaced after a period of three to five years.
